New Patient Information
What to Expect
We love new patients and we love new patient appointments! Your first visit to Valdemar Welz, DMD is an important one as it introduces you to our practice and our friendly staff. It also allows us to get to know you and understand any concerns, questions or fears you might have. During the first visit, we will collect background information like medical history as well as take a detailed report of your dental and overall health. Dr. Welz typically schedules 2 hours for a new patient exam to allow for examination and education. Every patient gets a “big tooth picture” and is encouraged to ask questions about anything! In addition to a thorough exam, we may also take x-rays or pictures. After your new patient appointment, we encourage new patients at our practice to schedule a cleaning appointment with one of our hygienists in the following weeks.
To help ensure your first visit goes as smoothly as possible for you, we invite you to take a few minutes to explore our website to educate yourself about the some of the procedures and smile solutions we offer.
In order to make your visit an easy process, you can request an appointment from our online form under contact us or call our office to set a date. Our friendly staff will assist you in getting everything set up. We typically respond to email requests within 24 hours.
If you have any questions about your dental insurance coverage, please contact our office and let our staff assist you. We are out-of-network and we submit claims on the patient’s behalf for all insurances. Payment is sent directly to the patient.
Parking & Access
Meter parking is available in front and back of our building (Commonwealth Avenue and Newbury Street) and garage paid parking in the back of our building at 425 Newbury Street. Handicap Access is also available on the Newbury Street side (just give us a call so we can help you through the back!).
